Grafiti project

Here I made a piece of art after looking at women's rights posters from the early 1900's. I noticed that in the women's suffrage posters that they made pictures of women doing "women stuff" like cleaning, and then they had the men at jobs saying that women also can do that. I really got inspired by that as you can see. The rocks are behind the glass podium represents the dog's personality only wanting money and the rainy cloud above him shows he is a bad person. You can read a work of art as text when you see what it represents like racism or for rights. If you know and use visual art vocabularies then you will understand the world around you and the past of ancient civilizations. overall this project was interesting.
I have learned a lot because of this project. I learned that our art can probably affect what people will think of are past and will give us clues to our past. everything said can not be listened to again, but the art that you create can be seen in the future. Who knows maybe one day in the future people will find your art and think it is a key to the past.
I wanted to make something that looks 3D but is still is on a flat piece of paper. I then thought, what makes things look more 3D? So I first did an alternating complementary color pattern which turned out cool and then I thought if there might be a better way. I then used a mixed crayon and wanted to see if the color affects the look of the hand. Then I wanted to see if the the sections with more of the same color in a row. would be seen the most clearly. I then tried a set of familiar colors so I had a set of colors like a stop light to see if any one catches that it is in the wrong order and if that affects their appeal. then I tried complimentary colors where my hand is one color and my background is different. then I got bored and tried my name in cursive. over all I thought the complementary hand and background looked the best.
